Purple Plans to Invest $21 million in Henry County Manufacturing Facility

Governor Brian P. Kemp today announced that Purple Innovation, Inc. (“Purple”), the comfort technology company known for creating the Purple® Mattress, has selected Henry County for their third U.S. manufacturing facility. Purple plans to make a $21 million investment in this 520,000-square-foot facility, delivering 360 jobs to the area.

Back to School for 2020-21 School Year

The Henry County Development Authority along with the Henry County Chamber of Commerce, Henry County Government and Henry County Schools have partnered to present the Summer Town Hall Series, a four-part conversation about efforts to move Henry County toward a healthy recovery during the COVID-19 pandemic. A panel of four Henry County leaders representing each organization will host the Series that will broadcast via Zoom, Facebook Live and YouTube Live.

Ferrero USA Announces Fall Opening of a New Henry Distribution Center

Ferrero USA, Inc., part of the global confectionery company Ferrero Group, today announced the opening of a new distribution center in McDonough, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. The newly constructed facility located at 875 Highway 42 South is 728,000 square feet and projected to begin operating by early September. The company anticipates that its new distribution center will add 250 local jobs.

Love’s to Open Retread and Distribution Facility in Henry County

The Henry County Development Authority today announced that Love's Travel Stops, the nation's industry-leading travel stop network, will open a retread plant and retail distribution center in Locust Grove, Georgia. Love’s will invest $16 million in its new Henry County facility and will employ 55 team members across various manufacturing and distribution roles. Love’s will provide retread products to commercial fleet companies and distribute product to the company’s Truck Care and Speedco locations. The new 200,000 square-foot facility is being developed by Scannell Properties.

LESS DEVELOPED CENSUS TRACTS - 2020 UPDATE

The Less-Developed Census Tract (LDCT) program, implemented by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA), is designed to induce businesses to create jobs in certain areas. Each year DCA ranks the state’s census tracts. The 2020 census tract ranking was released on January 15, 2020. While Henry County is a Tier 3 county, 6 areas were designated as less developed census tracts making them eligible for tax credit benefits similar to Tier 1 counties.
