Georgia Manufacturing Appreciation Week (MAW) is April 9-12, 2018! MAW was developed by the Technical College System of Georgia and the Georgia Department of Economic Development to celebrate the achievements of Georgia manufacturers. Our state is outpacing the nation in manufacturing thanks to a top-ranked workforce, location advantages, low cost of electricity, and the low costs of doing business.

The Henry County Chamber of Commerce hosted their 51st Annual Chamber Awards Dinner on February 10, 2018, sponsored by Piedmont Henry Hospital in Stockbridge! At this event, also known as the Chamber Banquet, the Chamber recognizes excellence by presenting awards to recipients chosen for their exemplary leadership and dedication to improving our community.

Start your Engines in Henry County!

NASCAR fans, get your engines revving because you don’t want to miss this! The Hampton NASCAR Hauler Parade is coming up February 22nd at Depot Park! The festivities will begin with the Darrell Waltrip Induction Ceremony and NASCAR Walk of Fame at 6pm at the Hampton Train Depot Park (20 E Main St). The parade will begin at 6:30pm through Downtown Hampton along Main Street. Did we mention this event is FREE?!

Parade Route:

  • Richard Petty Blvd to Georgia GA-20
  • Left turn on to E. Main Street and travel through Downtown Hampton
  • U-Turn at Amah Lee road and travel back through Downtown Hampton on W. Main Street to Woolsey Rd.
  • Left on Woolsey Rd.
  • Right turn on Turnipseed Rd. Re-enters at Gate G

Henry County Water Authority in the News

We are a proud partner of the Henry County Water Authority! They accommodate the needs of local citizens and protect the watersheds in order to ensure clean sources of water for Henry County residents and businesses. Lately, the HCWA has been making big strides in the industry, as well as our community!

They kicked off the recent holiday season by partnering with Meals on Wheels, a local program that provides warm meals to senior adults who are temporarily or permanently home bound and unable to shop and cook for themselves. The HCWA Engineering Division volunteered their time and transportation to deliver over 40 meals via four separate routes throughout Henry County.

The Henry County Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the business climate and making our community the best place to live, work and play. The Chamber offers workshops throughout the year to help you succeed in business. They also promote helpful classes provided by the UGA Small Business Development Center that take place at Clayton State University throughout the year. We’ve found all the places and events in Henry that you need to know about in order to make this a wonderful holiday season for your family!

Christmas Tree Lighting & Holiday Experience - Tanger Outlets, Locust Grove

Kick off the season (before Thanksgiving) at the Tanger Outlets Tree Lighting on November 17 from 6pm to 8pm. Welcome Santa as he arrives on his sleigh and enjoy caroling, s’mores and hot cocoa at Santa’s Sweet Station. Children’s crafts, special shopping deals and prizes will also be offered.

Christmas in the Country - Southern Belle Farm, McDonough

Southern Belle Farm will be open for their Farmstead Christmas Season, November 20-December 17. Their “Christmas in the Country” celebrations include sipping on a cup of hot spiced apple cider, munching on homemade cookies, listening to Christmas carols, and taking a festive hayride! They will offer pictures with Santa and have fresh pre-cut Fraser Fir Christmas trees shipped in from Boone, North Carolina, along with fresh greenery, handmade wreaths, holiday decorations and more. It’s a one-stop shop for holiday fun!
