Georgia manufacturers have added jobs for the fifth straight year, according to Manufacturers' News, Inc. “Georgia manufacturers added 5,555 jobs from May 2014 to May 2015, an increase of 1.1%.” This growth is among the highest in the nation. Georgia is home to over 9,000 manufacturers employing just under 500,000 workers. Ranked at number thirteen in the country, Georgia’s median hourly earnings in manufacturing is $29.98.

Home to an area workforce of more than 725,000 skilled workers, Henry County has gained a solid reputation as one of the top sites for business locations and expansions in Georgia and the Southeast, and is poised for expansion in the manufacturing industry. Over the past decade, Henry County’s niche specific employment growth has been impressive, including adding over 200 new jobs in medical manufacturing and over 100 jobs in plastics and rubber manufacturing. These industries expanded 1,177 percent and 250 percent, respectively, between 2001 and 2011. Henry’s talented workforce is due to many of the nation's most renowned universities and technical schools nearby.

The advanced manufacturing industry is supported by the high availability of water resources. Henry County boasts a water surplus, with current capacity projected to support at least 30 years of growth in the county. Additional assets include availability of fully served industrial sites and buildings and access to local and global markets through transportation networks that connect Henry County directly to Metro Atlanta, Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, and the Port of Savannah.
