, a manufacturer of outdoor equipment, recently announced their facility expansion in Stockbridge. They manufacture products such as kayaks, canoes, pedal boats and paddle boards, along with other outdoor equipment. With outdoor water recreation amenities like Panola Mountain State Park, the Cubihatcha Outdoor Education Center, and Tussahaw Island, KL Outdoors will prove to be a great fit for Henry County!

Public fishing at Henry County Water Authority reservoirs began in March and will conclude the last weekend of November. Locust Grove’s Tussahaw and Upper Towaliga Reservoirs are ideal water bodies for various species of bream, bass, and catfish. Anglers can access the Tussahaw Reservoir via Tussahaw Island, a public use area with boat ramps and a walking trail around its perimeter. Please keep in mind that to actively fish at these reservoirs, you must have an active reservoir use permit. Find more details on the Henry County Water Authority website.

Growing Jobs in Henry

Spring is often thought of as a season of new growth and Henry County, Georgia has seen substantial growth and development over the last year! The most recent announcement (April 2018) was from KL Outdoors, the world’s largest maker of kayaks and other outdoor equipment. They will be investing $8.3 million in Stockbridge, creating more than 100 jobs. Positions will include manufacturing and logistics.

In February of 2018, Hydro Systems, manufacturer of hand-crafted and custom-made whirlpool bathtubs and accessories, announced a new operation that will create 60 manufacturing jobs initially and hopefully increase to 100 within the first year. The facility is set to be fully operational this year.

NASCAR fans, get your engines revving because you don’t want to miss this! The Hampton NASCAR Hauler Parade is coming up February 22nd at Depot Park! The festivities will begin with the Darrell Waltrip Induction Ceremony and NASCAR Walk of Fame at 6pm at the Hampton Train Depot Park (20 E Main St). The parade will begin at 6:30pm through Downtown Hampton along Main Street. Did we mention this event is FREE?!

Parade Route:

  • Left turn on to E. Main Street and travel through Downtown Hampton

Henry County Water Authority in the News

We are a proud partner of the Henry County Water Authority! They accommodate the needs of local citizens and protect the watersheds in order to ensure clean sources of water for Henry County residents and businesses. Lately, the HCWA has been making big strides in the industry, as well as our community!

They kicked off the recent holiday season by partnering with Meals on Wheels, a local program that provides warm meals to senior adults who are temporarily or permanently home bound and unable to shop and cook for themselves. The HCWA Engineering Division volunteered their time and transportation to deliver over 40 meals via four separate routes throughout Henry County.
