The Henry County Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the business climate and making our community the best place to live, work and play. The Chamber offers workshops throughout the year to help you succeed in business. They also promote helpful classes provided by the UGA Small Business Development Center that take place at Clayton State University throughout the year. We’ve found all the places and events in Henry that you need to know about in order to make this a wonderful holiday season for your family!

Christmas Tree Lighting & Holiday Experience - Tanger Outlets, Locust Grove

Kick off the season (before Thanksgiving) at the Tanger Outlets Tree Lighting on November 17 from 6pm to 8pm. Welcome Santa as he arrives on his sleigh and enjoy caroling, s’mores and hot cocoa at Santa’s Sweet Station. Children’s crafts, special shopping deals and prizes will also be offered.

Christmas in the Country - Southern Belle Farm, McDonough

Southern Belle Farm will be open for their Farmstead Christmas Season, November 20-December 17. Their “Christmas in the Country” celebrations include sipping on a cup of hot spiced apple cider, munching on homemade cookies, listening to Christmas carols, and taking a festive hayride! They will offer pictures with Santa and have fresh pre-cut Fraser Fir Christmas trees shipped in from Boone, North Carolina, along with fresh greenery, handmade wreaths, holiday decorations and more. It’s a one-stop shop for holiday fun!

Georgia is Still on Top!

September 2017 was a big month for business and economic development in Georgia! Here are just a few things that happened: 

First things first...Georgia was named the number one state for business! This is a distinction that Georgia has now earned for the fourth consecutive year. The rankings were determined by a survey distributed to site consultants by Area Development, a leading executive magazine veering corporate site selection and relocation. Georgia ranked number one for workforce development programs, and cooperative and responsive state government.

Henry County Offers Hurricane Help

The impact of this year's hurricane season, which runs from June 1 to November 30, has been devasting for several states with recent Hurricanes Harvey and Irma and Hurricanes Jose & Maria and Tropical Storm Lee next on the horizon. Several local efforts have been organized recently to aid hurricane victims. Below are just a few of the many examples of the generousity and compassion inspired by recent hurricanes.

Manufacturing Day - October 6, 2017

Manufacturing Day began in 2012 and has continued to occur each year on the first Friday in October. It's a celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturers. Thousands of manufacturers will open their doors to the public, inviting communities into their facility in a collective effort to educate visitors about manufacturing career opportunities and improve public perceptions of manufacturing. This includes students, educators, businesspeople, media, and politicians. There are 1,231 MFG day events planned for this year’s celebration!

Unity in the Community 5K

September 9, 2017

This race by Get Set Grow benefits all Henry County Public Safety. Registration opens at 6:45am, with the 5K race beginning at 8:00am. There will also be a Tot Trot at 9:00am for children under 6. This race will kick off at Shiloh Baptist Church in Downtown McDonough. Dress in your best patriotic gear, and be sure to register by September 8th!
