General Mills and Blue Buffalo Choose Henry for New Facility

The Henry County Development Authority announced today that General Mills, manufacturer and marketer of branded consumer foods, will invest $8.5 million in its new state-of-the-art distribution facility located on Westridge Parkway in McDonough, Georgia. The project will create more than 50 new jobs.

De Wafelbakkers Expands Food Production Facility in Henry County

The Henry County Development Authority and the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) announced today that De Wafelbakkers, a manufacturer of made from scratch breakfast products, will invest $15 million to expand its production facility in Henry County. The expansion project will also create 83 jobs. This investment and job creation represents the first part of a planned two-phase expansion.

Henry Remains a Regional Growth Leader

Henry County is known for its ability to grow and build strong community with its 100 percent population growth between 1990 and 2000. Henry County was the tenth fastest-growing county in the U.S. with a 70.9 percent increase in population from 2000 to 2010.

Henry's growth story continues. In fact, Henry County added 5,800 new residents in the past year and had the second-largest percentage increase (2.5%) in the 10-county Atlanta region, according to population estimates recently released by the Atlanta Regional Commission. The growth brings the county’s total population to 234,800.
